Maguire, MA, MS, LPC, ACS, CCS Clinical Director Jennifer is a seasoned clinician with 15 years of experience and holds multiple advanced degrees in counseling and psychology. She has extensive practical experience treating addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders. Jennifer has provided vocational counseling and individual therapy for mentally ill adults and people with substance abuse issues in community mental health facilities as well as in her own private practice. Her general areas of practice include addiction and mental health issues, co-occurring disorders, personal growth and development, and couples issues. Jennifer is a licensed professional counselor in New Jersey and an approved clinical supervisor through the Center for Credentialing and Education, as well as a certified clinical supervisor through the New Jersey Addiction Professionals Certification Board. She is also a seasoned utilization review expert trained in addiction criteria by renowned addiction psychiatrist Dr. David Mee-Lee, the chief editor of the American Society of Addiction Medicine’s guidelines for patient placement. Jennifer holds a master’s degree in mental health counseling and applied psychology from Rowan University, a master’s degree in psychology from the University of Phoenix, and a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers. She is a MacArthur Foundation Fellow and a McNair Scholar. She is nearing completion of her doctorate in education degree in counseling psychology from Argosy University. Frank Florence, MA, ATR-BC, LPC, LCADC Senior Primary Therapist/Art Therapist Frank provides individual and group counseling as well as art therapy in partial care and intensive outpatient settings at Promises New Jersey. He has significant experience conceptualizing and facilitating unique interventions for clients living with unresolved trauma, grief, poor self-esteem, anxiety, depression, shame and guilt. He has worked with a variety of populations, including children, adolescents and seniors living with co-occurring mental health disorders. Frank views substance abuse as a symptom of an underlying issue and supports clients in peeling back the layers of their addiction through creativity, vulnerability, safety and empathy. He specializes in offering unique, compassionate cognitive behavioral therapy-focused treatment drawing on clients’ individualized motivations and strengths. Frank is a board certified and registered art therapist and holds a master’s degree in art therapy from Marywood University, where he was trained in the humanistic approach to art therapy. He is certified as a licensed professional counselor in Pennsylvania and as a licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor in New Jersey. Jenn Pullaro, LCSW, LCADC Primary Therapist and Group Therapist Jennifer has more than a decade of experience in the treatment of substance abuse, behavioral addictions and mental health disorders. She has expertise in performing assessments, leading individual and group therapy sessions, treatment planning and case management. She was trained by noted addiction psychiatrist Dr. Mee-Lee on the American Society of Addiction Medicine’s guidelines for patient placement and how to complete multidimensional assessments. She has also been trained in the “Seeking Safety” therapeutic model for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder and substance abuse. Jennifer is a licensed clinical social worker and a licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Stockton University and a master’s degree in social work from Rutgers. Dawn Gadon, APN, CARN-AP Nurse Practitioner Dawn helps clients work through medical issues in all phases of treatment. She has broad primary care training and experience, and has specialized training and experience in the treatment of drug and alcohol abuse, as well as in hematology and oncology. Dawn is also passionate about education. She has taught nurse practitioner students at the University of Pennsylvania and at Georgetown University School of Nursing. Dawn is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the American Nurses Association, and the New Jersey Nurses Association. She is an Associate Member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine, has been certified by the American Nurse Credentialing Center, and is licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania to practice advanced nursing without restrictions. She is also a certified addictions registered nurse – advanced practice. Dawn received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Immaculata College and her master’s degree in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. Robert Harron Group Therapist Rob is a graduate of Rutgers University and has completed the addiction counseling specialist series at Atlantic Cape Community College. He is in recovery and draws on both his personal and professional experience with addiction to help clients at Promises New Jersey  drug rehab. Focused on 12-step philosophies and principles, Rob works with clients in a group setting where he emphasizes relapse prevention and the overall process of recovery. He says he seeks to help clients identify the thoughts and feelings behind their negative behaviors and guide them through the process of changing their behavior into something positive and life-sustaining. Rob has been working at Promises New Jersey rehab since 2013. Anthony Mattia, CADC Intern Aftercare & Case Management Coordinator/Alumni Coordinator Anthony handles the case management and aftercare planning for clients in all levels of care at Promises New Jersey. He also oversees the alumni association and facilitates group therapy in our intensive outpatient program. Anthony is currently completing his internship to become a certified alcohol and drug counselor. He has an extensive knowledge of 12-step recovery and is attending addictions courses through the New Jersey Prevention network. His own life experiences with addiction help him relate to clients on a personal level. Joy Tomassetti, RMA Medical Assistant Joy assists our nurse practitioner with daily tasks such as client assessments, medical records, monitoring vitals, administering medications and testing for health conditions. Joy is a registered medical assistant and has specialized training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, first aid and basic life support. She is also Narcan (Evzio) trained (administering naloxone HCl injection). Prior to joining Park Bench drug rehab, she worked as a physical therapist assistant, home health aide, and residential group home manager for people with disabilities. Joy says her passion for helping others led her to this career path. She finds it particularly rewarding when Park Bench alumni return to serve as guest speakers, and she sees how excited they are about their success in recovery.
